Salary: £40,000 – £48,000 per annum depending on qualifications and experience 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to join our School.
The postholder will be responsible for preparing and processing monthly payroll for the School and its trading subsidiary (c. 500 staff). The candidate will be the first point of contact for all payroll and pension queries and will work closely with the HR team and the rest of the Finance team.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working as a standalone payroll professional, have excellent digital literacy and numeracy, be familiar with a variety of payroll systems and ideally have worked in schools and have experience of the Teachers’ Pension scheme.

Kings Place Music Foundation is currently looking to recruit an Event Coordinator to support the Technical and Production departments.

An opportunity has arisen to join the Payroll team based at Wandsworth Town Hall. As Payroll Team Leader, you will be responsible for a team of +/- 4 Payroll Coordinators. Your tasks will include (but will not be limited to) inputting, checking and bringing allocated Payrolls to completion, quality control of payroll data, training, supervision, leadership and mentoring of the Payroll Coordinators, as well as conducting appraisals and setting objectives for team members. You will enjoy liaising with departmental managers and employees, resolving their queries, as well as advising on legislative and contractual matters.

The ideal candidate will have experience in processing high volume payrolls, (preferably on iTrent payroll software) up to producing BACS files and submissions to HMRC. Knowledge of current legislation is important, as is the ability to carry out manual calculations of PAYE, NI and Student Loans. Previous payroll experience in a Local Authority environment will be an advantage.

The post reports into the Payroll Manager.

The Payroll team run a total of 12 payrolls, thereby offering the opportunity to train and acquire skills on different payroll groups.

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our dynamic and committed payroll team. You will ensure that the Payroll Team deliver an accurate, timely and high quality payroll service for all OHC&AT employees and clients.

You will;

  • Accurately input data into the Payroll system to ensure that appropriate employee details are correctly set up and calculated in accordance with statutory and contractual requirements
  • Liaise with staff and all level of management on payroll related queries.  Action complex pay queries accurately and promptly.
  • Take a proactive approach to ensure the effective management and development of staff within the payroll team, planning and organising the resources to meet the service requirements whilst ensuring workflow and technical content evenly shared between the teams and individuals

The right person for this role will have;

  • Certified payroll qualification (or willing to study)
  • Understanding of payroll legislation and experienced in running payrolls (In-House preferred but not essential)
  • Advanced knowledge of pay and conditions of service for Local Government staff and teachers (or willing to study)
  • Computer literate especially confidence in using Excel (Intermediate or Advance Level in Excel required)
  • Self-motivation and organisational skills to work to meet deadlines.
  • Initiative and ambition to develop professionally.
