Hackney is one of the UK’s highest performing local authorities, serving one of London’s best places to live and work. We have achieved a huge amount: our services, our schools, our public spaces are all amongst the very best. We have changed the reputation, not just of the Council, but of Hackney itself. Bringing jobs and investment into the borough, securing the legacy from the 2012 Games, and making this a place of which we can all be proud.
We are looking to recruit a Payroll Manager to lead the payroll and pensions team here at Hackney. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team, with a great working environment, excellent staff benefits and flexible working.
As the Payroll Manager you will oversee multiple payrolls on a monthly basis and will be accountable for all payroll related submissions and BACS payments and be up to date with payroll legislation. The role will manage the team on a daily basis – providing training, support and areas of development, and the recruitment of new staff.
In order to be considered for this position, candidates must have strong end to end UK payroll processing experience on large, complex payrolls and experience of an integrated HR/Payroll platform such as iTrent. We would also be looking for strong IT and communication skills, along with the ability to identify and execute process improvements. You would also need to demonstrate excellent management skills and have led a medium to large team.
