The role will be based at our friendly, busy Head Offices in the town centre of Stockport, just 5 minutes walk from the train station.  Working across our Weekly Payroll team, the successful candidate will oversee the timely and accurate processing of all our weekly payrolls. The role will also incorporate leading a team in processing payrolls to tight deadlines including the implementation of staff transferring under TUPE, some of whom are eligible for NHS and Local Authority Terms and Conditions, and full year end responsibilities.

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Payroll Team Leader to motivate the team to deliver the highest level of internal and external customer care, productivity and accuracy. You will need to carry out internal checks and audits of work to ensure that the team is performing against expectations. You must be able to work to targets and take ownership of issues, escalating these when necessary to the Payroll Manager and Head of HR.

You will promote high standards of professionalism and confidentiality and ensure effective communication with HR colleagues and operational managers. You will have senior payroll experience and ideally a relevant qualification, preferably with experience of supervising & leading a team and managing a busy workload, and be someone who is able to work under pressure.
