We are recruiting for an experienced Payroll Operations Manager to join a leading payroll services firm based in West London. Summary of role To administer and control the payroll, benefits and pension functions for approximately 450 employees of Merchant Taylors’ Educational Trust, to include Merchant Taylors’ School, Merchant Taylors’ Prep and St John’s School. To ensure that employees are paid accurately and on time and to ensure that, where applicable, employees are assessed and enrolled into the Auto Enrolment pension scheme as required by law. We are currently using WCBS Payroll software.
Main duties and responsibilities · Assess, auto enrol and set up new members to the Auto Enrolment Aviva pension scheme. Dealing with all aspects of payroll for starters, leavers, contractual changes, monthly overtime and timesheets, calculation of term time starters / leavers, salary sacrifice benefits including childcare vouchers and cycle to work scheme, multiple pension schemes and processing statutory payments and deductions such as SMP, SPP, SHPP and Student Loans.

 

· Ensuring HMRC (HM Revenue & Customs) compliance at all times.

· Calculation of Occupational Sick pay and Maternity pay. Calculate and authorise benefits. Upload reports to 3rd party suppliers.

· Produce, analyse and balance all payroll reports prior to review by the Accounts Manager. Produce a BACS listing and meet with the Bursar for final payroll checks prior to submission of the BACS file. Responsible for Submission of Full Payment Submission (FPS) and Employer Payment Submission (EPS) to HMRC on a monthly basis.

· Management of Year End and Start of Year processes including electronic issue of P60s to all staff.

· Prepare, complete and submit P11Ds.

· Send payslips via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) to all employees monthly

· Balance payroll accounts within the nominal ledger on a monthly basis Always keep fully up to date with Payroll and Pensions legislation

 

Pension Duties

· To perform the pension requirements for circa 450 employees including Teachers’ Pensions

 

Teachers’ Pensions

· To maintain teachers’ records on a monthly basis with accurate data and to submit file via Monthly Contributions Reconciliation (MCR).

· To prepare the Teachers’ Pension End of Year Certificate for Audit and submission to TPS (Teachers’ Pension Scheme)

· Prepare and submit re-employment, retirement and any other forms to TPS as and when necessary

 

Support Staff Pension Schemes

· To ensure that employee and employer contributions are accurate and deductions are paid on a monthly basis

 

Additional Duties

· To respond to payroll and pension queries in a timely manner

· To prepare employee data for the completion of the financial benchmarking surveys and Independent School Census

· To complete government surveys as and when required

· To prepare and report Pay Gender Reporting

· To prepare payroll information for the financial year-end and in preparation for the annual audit.

· To liaise with the School’s auditors and supply documentation as required
