Pensions Technician – Exchequer Services

Salary: £31,434.00 – £36,177.00 p/a

Location: HQ, Bridgend

 

This is an exciting opportunity to work in an organisation with an annual budget of £271m.

A position has become available within the Exchequer Services unit (incorporating Payroll, Pensions & Creditors) within Corporate Finance.

The unit has undergone significant internal changes which include transformation to self-service and a new Pensions Service Provider.

As part of these transformational changes, the successful applicant will be required to support the provision of a comprehensive, high quality, proactive information and support Pension service ensuring that the Exchequer Section Service Plan and its’ Objectives are met and provided in the most cost effective and efficient manner.

This role is specifically responsible for providing assurance across relevant internal policies and external legislation.

South Wales Police is Wales’ largest Police Force and the seventh largest in the UK. With an annual revenue budget of £358 million and employing over 6,000 police officers and staff the Head of Exchequer Services will play a key role in keeping the people of South Wales safe.

 

You will lead the Payroll, Accounts Payable and Pensions functions and be a key member of the Finance Department Senior Management Team. Experienced in the use and on-going development of ERP systems you will also bring your change management experience to the role to contribute to the on-going drive for efficiency and productivity across the Force.

 

For the role you should also be comfortable working with a range of internal/external stakeholders including Chief Officers.
