About The Role
We’re on the lookout for a brilliant Payroll Specialist who’s got a head for numbers, a love for detail, and a passion for making sure everyone gets paid correctly and on time (because who doesn’t love payday?). You’ll be the go-to person for all things payroll—keeping things running smoothly, staying on top of compliance and legislation, and making sure our people feel supported and confident when it comes to their pay, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payroll.

We believe our people are our superpower. That’s why we’re all in, together, five days a week onsite—because creativity, collaboration, and growth thrive when we’re face-to-face. If a £1 bet in a pub between two mates can become the UK’s most trusted electrical retailer, just imagine what we can do next.

Here’s What You Can Expect To Be Doing
• Running payroll from start to finish on a weekly and monthly basis
• Maintaining and updating payroll records including new starters, leavers, and changes in pay or benefits
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations (e.g., tax, pension, national insurance).
• Spotting and sorting any payroll hiccups before they become a problem.
• Teaming up with our HR and Finance teams to keep everything aligned.
• Prepare and submit payroll-related reports to internal stakeholders and external agencies
• Answering questions from our team about pay, benefits, and deductions.
• Supporting with audits and keeping everything confidential and secure.
• Staying sharp on payroll legislation and best practices.
• Supporting our Payroll Administrator and wider Payroll team

A Few Things About You
• At least 5 years payroll experience with HRIS or ERP systems experience.
• Familiar with relevant payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
• Able to communicate clearly and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Proficient in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Sage, Workday) and Excel.
• You’ll be organised, detail-focused, and manage your time effectively.

Job Title: Senior Payroll Coordinator

Location: Stockport

Office Based: Yes

Hours: 9-5:30

Are you a payroll pro who loves getting things done? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, people-focused environment where no two days are quite the same?

I am on the lookout for a Payroll Senior Coordinator to take the reins on end-to-end payroll delivery for contractor and bureau clients.

You’ll support a small but mighty team, keep everything compliant, tackle complex queries with confidence, and help us keep raising the bar!

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading from the front – guiding and supporting the payroll team to smash deadlines across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly pay runs.
  • Making sure every payslip is spot-on – reviewing outputs and adjustments to keep them fully compliant with PAYE, NI, RTI, pensions, and all the legal bits.
  • Being the go-to problem solver; jumping in to handle payroll queries from contractors, clients, and internal teams.
  • Working cross-functionally; teaming up with stakeholders and keeping our external partners (like HMRC) in the loop when needed.
  • Acting as their payroll safety net – stepping up in the Head of Payroll’s absence to keep everything running smoothly.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • You’ve got experience in umbrella, recruitment, or accountancy payroll environments.
  • You’re confident managing both weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • You’ve got top-notch communication skills and love being part of a collaborative team.
  • You’re a natural leader – someone who can support and mentor junior team members with patience and clarity.
  • Bonus points if you’re CIPP certified (or working towards it!).
