Role Title: Head of Payroll
Salary: £65,000-£75,000 plus car, benefits

Location: Midlands

 

Our client is one of the leading multi-channel and multi-site businesses in the UK.  As they continue to grow, they are looking to recruit an experienced Head of Payroll to lead the payroll team.

 

Reporting into the Chief Financial Officer, in this newly created role, you will be responsible for managing the payroll function at both a strategic and operational level.  Using your breadth and depth of experience and knowledge, you will take responsibility for identifying and delivering key process improvements and system projects.  As an experienced Payroll professional, you will have the gravitas and leadership credentials to influence stakeholders at all levels.

 

Responsibilities include:

Ensuring the continuous development of the payroll function across multiple payrolls
Relevant and timely reporting to authorities including all year end procedures
Evaluating the current payroll software/system and implementing recommendations
Ensuring payroll compliance and that all statutory reporting deadlines are met
Leading, coaching and developing the payroll team

Ensuring clear communication and collaboration with other departments

 

Candidate requirements:

 

Progressive track record within large organisations, preferably in a multi-channel environment
CIPP Qualification
Advanced knowledge of data analytical tools and experience with multiple software systems
Experience in project management, process improvement and implementation of new systems
Methodical and systematic approach with effective and timely decision-making skills
Minimum of 10 years + experience of managing payroll teams of scale
Collaborative in style with the ability to inspire, empower and provide clear direction
Experience of leading change and effective stakeholder management

·      Knowledge and experience of administering statutory legislation

Payroll End Point Assessor
Location: Midlands (but can be remote with some travel to the office when required)
Salary: Up to £35k p/a + benefits

 

A leading training provider is seeking an experienced payroll professional with experience in training payroll apprentices to help them implement the strategy and operations of the End Point Assessment for the Payroll Apprenticeship Level 3 qualification.

 

Responsibilities will include delivering an independent payroll assessment service which will include developing endpoint assessments including tests, scenarios and case studies.

 

The successful candidate will ideally possess the CIPP Diploma or Foundation Degree (although this is not essential) and will be experienced in training payroll staff in the technical aspects of payroll.

 

Experience of working within the education sector could also be advantageous.
