Job summary

We are an expanding service so require additional resource within NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP). We have opportunites for 2 x part time AfC band 2 Payroll Assistants within (NWSSP) based in Matrix House, Llansamlet, Swansea. The successful post holders will work as part of a payroll team providing a payroll service to NHS Wales organisations. This role will entail office base working.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide support to all functions within the Payroll Department across a variety of appropriate tasks. The Payroll Assistant will act as part of a team providing support to some or all areas. Some posts may be designated to specific duties and others will operate on a flexible basis to meet the changing demands of the service.

The Role:

We are seeking a Head of HR and Service Centre to reshape the service bringing HR, OD and the Service Centre in to one team and prepare us for the future.  Reporting to our Deputy Chief Executive with direct links to the Finance Directorate, you will be an experienced and proven deliverer of a performance led service demonstrating inspirational and innovative leadership to drive forward culture change and new ways of working.

You will be an integral part of the Council’s Corporate Leadership Team, liaising closely with executive colleagues and our Political Leadership as well as our Trade Union colleagues and external partners.

This is a wide ranging role covering areas including:

  • HR and Organisational Development
  • Workforce (Analytics, Recruitment and selection processes and support, Learning & Development & Terms & Conditions Changes)
  • Payroll (Employees and Pensioners, Schools & 3rd Party Orgs);
  • Accounts Receivable & Purchasing
  • Accounts Payable;
  • Cash Management

Swansea has ambitious plans for the future, and the Head of HR and Service Centre will be expected to contribute at both a strategic and operational level in order to identify HR and workforce priorities and recommend appropriate people management solutions to support the council’s aims as well as work in partnership with other Directorates to ensure the leadership, organisational structure, working and management practices are at the optimum level to drive and support business performance.
