As Payroll Manager for the RCN Group, you’ll use your positive attitude, your extensive knowledge of payroll legislation and your ability to deliver under pressure to manage the RCN Group payrolls which cover over 1,000 employees.

 

The small payroll team which you will lead is part of the RCN Group finance department which gives you the opportunity to work with a finance team full of knowledge and expertise. You will work closely with the RCN People & OD team and the RCNi HR team to ensure monthly payrolls are accurate and processed on time.

 

You will be responsible for all aspects of the payroll preparation and processing including monthly submissions to HMRC, pension administrators and other third parties.

 

You will join the RCN Group at an exciting time as it embarks on a transformation programme which includes reviewing systems and processes in both Finance and People & OD. This will give you a great opportunity to demonstrate and enhance your leadership and communication skills as you make a significant contribution to the finance transformation programme.

You will be an experienced Payroll Manager holding a IPPM or equivalent qualification, demonstrating a good understanding of payroll calculations and legislation. You will bring to the role a desire to continually improve payroll processes ensuring robust controls and data protection protocols are always in place.

A leading retail organisation based in London has an urgent requirement for a Payroll Officer to join their department to cover maternity for a period of 12 months.

 

Working closely with the Head of Payroll, the Payroll Officer will be responsible for ensuring the payroll is managed and accurately maintained.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Process the UK payroll from start to finish.
  • Support the year-end process including P11D.
  • Collate and process the weekly timesheets.
  • Act as the point of contact for staff payroll queries.

  • Setting up new PAYE schemes and online filing
  • End of year processing including collating and providing P60s, PAYE reconciliations, final submissions or Earlier Year updates where required
  • Validation of data before forwarding to client to ensure accuracy of details
  • Ensuring that client expectations for payroll deadlines are met and submissions are made to HMRC in accordance with the deadlines
  • Assist with client questions and liaise with HMRC where necessary to resolve issues on behalf of the client.
  • Good knowledge of current employer legislation relating to Statutory payments, Redundancy, Auto Enrolment and all other related PAYE matters is essential for this role.
  • Dealing with daily correspondence, telephone calls, emails, etc
