We’re looking for a Payroll Administrator to join us on a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. You’ll process two monthly payrolls, as well as pensions for the company. You’ll also be responsible for processing a large payroll for event staff in July/August.

The All England Lawn Tennis Club (Championships) Limited (AELTC) organises and stages The Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships.

The Payroll Administrator position reports in to our finance team, whose role is to partner with the wider organisation to ensure an accurate view of costs and income is recorded and communicated to the business, and to ensure appropriate controls around payments, receipts and cash management.

Our finance team process between 500 and 2,000 supplier invoices each month from over 2,000 suppliers covering everything from buildings maintenance and brand development to horticulture and charitable donations. With group turnover of over £200m, processed in three main currencies, we generate sales invoices to partners around the world.

This role helps to support our goal of delivering the world’s premier tennis tournament and to support one of the world’s most prestigious tennis clubs.

What you’ll be doing:

Working closely with the wider finance and HR teams, the Payroll Administrator will provide a service to support around 330 core employees, and further support around 1,200 temporary employees and event staff. Providing a payroll service for our employees is complex, as there is a diverse range of roles to support operations, resulting in varying terms and conditions.

  • Preparation of monthly payrolls for permanent and temporary staff, including timesheets and overtime, ensuring it is duly authorised
  • Processing starters and leavers, checking pro rata calculations
  • Preparation and distribution of P45s
  • Liaising with HR to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll
  • Resolving and dealing with all queries from employees, managers and HMRC
  • Calculation and reconciliation of monthly statutory and pension payments
  • Liaison with group pension provider on new joiners and auto enrolment
  • Check and process monthly expense claims
  • Assist with annual statutory returns
  • Assist with final salary pension scheme administration
  • Process and distribute P11Ds
  • Manage maternity/paternity/adoption payments
  • Prepare payroll for sign off by Financial Director
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of, and ensure compliance with, employment and tax legislation
  • Ensure payroll filing is up to date
  • Provide reporting provisions as required by the wider Finance or HR departments

What you’ll need to be successful:

Essential

  • Experience of payroll processing and administration
    Good knowledge of payroll compliance, legislation and HMRC guidelines, including SMP and SPP and pension auto enrolment
  • A positive, pro-active approach together with the ability to work well within a team environment
    Strong communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal) with both finance and non-finance staff
    Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills – Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook
  • High attention to detail
  • Good analytical and numeracy skills

Desirable

  • Experience of using CoreHR to process payroll
  • Experience of pension processing and administration

Payroll Team Leader – £30,000 – Harpenden

An exciting, Harpenden-based organisation has a requirement for an Payroll Team Leader to join their growing department.

This Payroll Team Leader opportunity will involve managing an experienced payroll team while also taking responsibility for processing a high volume payroll.

The successful Payroll Team Leader will have previous experience in handling the day to day supervision of a team as well as in all aspects of payroll up to and including processing year ends.

Other responsibilities will include setting up and running payrolls efficiently using its functionalities such as nominal journals, import/exports, report writing as well as implementing new client payroll setups.
